When prescribing a:
* PFM crown or our own 'Pure Gold' crown use: either the Vita Lumin, (classical) or the Vita 3-D Master shade guide. Please note the available bleach shades for the newer 3-D shade system.
* Procera AllCeram crown use: either the Vita Lumin, (classical) or the 3-D Master guide
* Empress or Eris crown, inlay, onlay, bridge, use: the Chromscope shade guide. Note bleaching tabs available. Avoid the 3-D Master shade guide as these shades aren't available with the Empress materials.
* Always take a shade of the prepped dentin, (stumpf) when prescribing Empress or Eris restorations. See photo below right.
* Make sure patient has completed all bleaching before restoring teeth, (if possible).
* Always let the lab know if the crown, (all-ceramic) will be placed over a post and core.
