Continuing Education seminar a big hit in Gnathodontics' Education Center!
By John Bozis, Customer Relations Manager

As it did during our official Open House back in November, the weather turned cold and snowy on April 17th for the first CE program in our state of the art education center. Dr. Ken Koch of Real World Endo presented his excellent ‘Endo-Restorative Continuum’ lecture and hands-on clinic to 16 dentists who braved the heavy wet spring snow that fell to attend this program. These doctors came from as far away as Steamboat Springs, Eagle, Fort Collins and Pueblo to attend this long awaited program, and no one went away disappointed with Dr. Koch’s fun, informal and practical approach to ‘precision-based’ endodontics.

Dr. Koch’s morning session consisted of a lecture and keynote presentation which included practical photography to illustrate his concepts. After a nice catered lunch and a brief tour of our new laboratory, the group got to work hands-on with extracted teeth, while being assisted by represetatives of Brasseler USA, which was our meeting co-sponsor and who provided portable hand pieces for each doctor to work with. Everyone who attended the course commented that they felt like they had gotten a lot of great information and some hands-on endodontic experience while earning valuable CE credit hours. Getting a first look at our new lab and meeting our managers seemed to be icing on the cake. We can only hope that by May 21st (our next CE program) the spring snows will be over with!

We will be adding many more continuing education programs in the future and I encourage you to visit www.gnatho.com for the latest info on future programs. I would also like to mention that our education room is ideally suited to study group presentations as it seats 20 and is wired with the latest AV needs. If you put on or attend a study group that needs a place to host your next meeting, give me a call at 303-424-9515, ext. 825

Making sure your case gets to you on time
By Brenda Boone, Co-Owner, Front Office Manager

At Gnathodontics, we pride ourselves on service and part of that service is getting your cases to you on time. Occasionally, mistakes happen and sometimes a mistake could be avoided by understanding how our shipping/ delivery department operates.

Some dental offices don’t understand that we deliver many cases each day all over the metro area. We have 4 of our own drivers plus a courier service that delivers along the Front Range. Each of our delivery drivers follows a route depending on the deliveries he/she has that day. For instance, the East driver must deliver to Downtown, Cherry Creek, Aurora and Parker. Our drivers can’t go straight to your office from our lab, but must pickup and deliver to all the offices in between too. For this reason, we cannot guarantee any deliveries before 10:30am in the morning or before 3:00pm in the afternoon.

One way to make sure that you get your case on time is to put the due date down as the day before the actual appointment. However, sometimes we are trying to accommodate some very tight turnaround schedules on busy days where we need that extra day to deliver the case. Just to be certain that we know, please make sure your office clearly marks the time the patient is scheduled on a given day. Don’t assume that because you wrote AM on the prescription that you will get the case by 9:00am. If you don’t mark the time down, it might not get to you until 11:30am. The same goes for afternoon deliveries. PM cases will get delivered up until 5pm that day.

If you need a time schedule, just give us a call and we will be glad to send you one. Or, just go to www.gnatho.com and click on the “time schedule” tab on the top menu bar for a printable version of our schedule. Thanks for helping us so that we may provide your office with great service.

Troy Staten
By Gerald Pontasch, Co-Owner

It is my pleasure to introduce Troy Staten as our Crown & Bridge Manager. Many of you may have already met Troy at the Denver Midwinter Dental Convention or spoken with him on the phone regarding a case.

Let me tell you a little more about Troy and his background. Troy grew up in the Denver area in the early 70s – actually not too far from our new lab in Lakewood. He gained his knowledge in dental technology by working in various dental labs as a crown & bridge technician and ceramist. He owned a small cosmetic lab in Southern California. He returned to Colorado, where he operated his own lab for the past 5 years in Loveland. He earned his CDT certification in the 90s and brings to our lab great skills as a technician, as a facilitator, and as a leader.

Troy and his wife Shareen have three children, Luke, 8, Taylie, 6, and Cody, 2. Troy is a family man and enjoys the outdoors, hiking, and camping with his kids.

We are excited to have Troy as part of our team here at Gnatho. Please feel free to give him a call about your next crown & bridge case. His extension is 593. Please join us in welcoming Troy to Gnathodontics, Ltd.

Gnathodontics' Open House hot despite cold weather outside
by John Bozis, Customer Relations Manager

On a cold snowy evening in November, Gnathodontics’ hosted our official Open House at our new lab, located in Lakewood. Approximately 70 friends attended a fun filled evening showcasing the new lab and enjoyed catered hors d’oeuvres, drinks, cake, lab tours and a chance to win several personalized IPods as giveaways. Here are a few images from the night. Stay tuned for info on a summertime cookout for our customers here at Gnatho. Thanks to all who braved the cold weather to help us celebrate this very special evening.

by John Bozis, Customer Relations Manager

At Gnathodontics researching and working with new materials in the dental technology field helps us to provide the best possible materials and products for our dentist clients. A new provisional material from DENTSPLY has emerged as an excellent solution for our temporaries and longer term provisional restorations. Radica is a revolutionary, lab-processed provisional material that combines exceptionally high flexural strength characteristics with superior esthetics. Radica provisional resin offers the optimum in a low-wear, highly-durable material for long-term provisional appliances and therefore is an excellent material for use with implant cases when the patient will be without their final restoration for extended periods of time. Some of the benefits of the Radica provisional material follow:

  • Offers a full complement of shades including 16 A-D shades and 2 bleached shades with a variety of tissue tints, stains and enamels. This range of colors gives our technicians the ability to maximize the esthetic potential of each case.
  • Unparalleled durability, flexural stregth and wear resistance make Radica our resin material of choice for use on long-term provisionals for implant cases.
  • Engineered radiopacity is optimal for chairside CT scans or X-rays.
  • Maintains surface gloss and resists staining.
  • Can be relined with traditional materials.
